With our beloved Music Director Laurie Brandl on vacation for two weeks, South Meriden Trinity was blessed to have a special guests to fill in for leading worship music. Sue and Ken Paulsen, guitarists and singers, were joined by guest Justine Guckin and our choir, providing joyful renditions of familiar and loved hymns and some new sounds. Sue, Ken, and Justine are members of the Tres Dias interdenominational Christian fellowship, and brought their passion for faith to enliven our summer worship. Laurie continued to support us "in absentia" with recordings of some of our worship music, so familiar and new sounds filled our church.
Thank you for bringing your joyful sounds, Sue, Ken, and Justine, hopefully you can join Laurie in helping us to celebrate faith in South Meriden again!

"We the People" touching lives in our community
Sunday, July 2nd was our new Pastor John Blossom's first turn at leading our congregation in worship in his new role, and his sermon "We the People" reminded us that we, the people of South Meriden Trinity UMC, are to enter our community in faith, to call them to faith, and to serve them in faith.
Words turned quickly into action, as several members of our congregation and visitors walked the block surrounding our church, stopping at several places to pray for local families, our Unity House mission facility, local businesses, local police, our Star Cubs pre-school and Hanover Elementary School.
Linda Kirk assisted those who could not walk the distance by driving them in her convertible, and we prayed holding hands with them whenever we could. We stopped to greet a couple of members' families at their homes, and prayed with some of them also.
As our new Web site says, our church is in the middle of South Meriden for a reason - and we're moving forward in faith to discern how God will use us in this place at this time!
