How wide is a saving faith? As wide as the joy of a child, as wide as a world that needs saving - as wide as our hopes for ourselves and God's world! Pastor John Blossom's sermon message "A Saving Faith: How Wide?" continued his new sermon series on the letter to the Ephesians with a look at how God's saving faith is not only for everyone, but for inviting us to be citizens in God's kingdom, and members of God's household.
Our Holy Conferencing activities explored how we can move towards a heavenly future for our church - or not! - and listened to the great progress that our church members are making in building that future for God's church in this place. Thank you, everyone, for participating! Sermon and charge podcast below, sermon text here and below the podcast. Sermon series study, reflection and prayer guide is available here. How wide is a saving faith? Wide enough to invite the whole world into God's household - a household with a new way of life! This Sunday, Pastor John Blossom continues his "Fire Up a Saving Faith" sermon series with a look at how early Christians invited into Christ a world of people who were told they weren't God's people. We have always belonged to God's household: are we ready to join it?

We will start our worship as usual at 10AM, and after the passing of the peace we will move into our fellowship hall, where worship will include our quarterly "Holy Conferencing" - a time when we can reflect on our discipleship and hear about the life of the church. We will be done by about 11.40, and we hope that you can stay for the whole time, and enjoy the fun. See you on Sunday!

.While we are sorry that Sarah Bourdon is moving on to a new full-time position in a local school system, it is with great pleasure that we are welcoming in her replacement today. William A. Mariano comes to us as the current Office Administrator at Cheshire United Methodist Church, and is now our new part-time Office Administrator. William has several years of experience in church office administration, as well as an enthusiasm for faith and growing churches that is a wonderful match for our own growing church.

William will be receiving training from Sarah and Mary Barker in the weeks ahead on the deeper "ins and outs" of our operations, but already he has gone through his initial orientation, and begins this first day in the office today, ready to "hit the ground running!" His regular office hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1.30PM-4.30PM.

Please welcome William warmly in the days and weeks ahead, and please wish Sarah and her family our very best as she transitions into her new role. We have been blessed, coming and going!

What would it be like to have a saving faith - a faith that gives us a rich, deep, broad, strong, loving, joyful and safe sense of God's presence in our lives, always?  Early Christians had this saving faith, and rejoiced in its power in their lives. Methodism is rooted in the idea of practicing a saving faith, and bringing its fruits to the world!

This Sunday, Pastor John Blossom will invite us on a journey into saving faith, as he kicks off a new sermon series: "Fire Up a Saving Faith" begins. The series will focus on the New Testament letter to the Ephesians, which celebrates how the early church in the generation after Jesus' resurrection discovered saving faith.

There is a study, reflection, and prayer guide that will be available in your bulletins at the first service, and available throughout the series in the church, as well has online here. We encourage you to pick up a copy of the guide, and study and reflect on it on your own and with others, and pray its prayers, to help you to come to a better place in your faith life.

Sunday's sermon, "How Rich?," Will focus on the opening to Ephesians, where the riches of a saving faith are being realized by early Christians with assurance, and hope. Enjoy that Christian hope growing in you this Summer! See you Sunday.
