God Made Us to Touch with Love! Sunday September 2nd at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church!
This Sunday we celebrate being creations of God who are meant to celebrate the gift of touch - the way that God meant us to celebrate it! Pastor John's family-friendly sermon, "Let's Talk About Sex." reflects on the joyful and sensuous Song of Solomon from the Bible, and how it points the way to how we can find more joy and strength by bringing our spiritual life into our physical life. Please remember that September 9th is our "Rally Day" Sunday, when we resume our children's Sunday School program, and welcome everyone in our community to join us in Christian discipleship after the Summer break. Have a blessed Labor Day weekend!
Find Safety in God's Armor of Faith! This Sunday August 26th at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church
How safe is a saving faith? Pastor John Blossom concludes his "Fire Up a Saving Faith" series on the New Testament letter to the Ephesians this Sunday with a message that explores how much we need God's protection through a saving faith to respond to life's challenges. Come for the joy of faith and fellowship, and bring a friend!
So many of us love our pets, and find the image of God's love in them, and in caring for them. Our pets deserve God's blessings as much as any of God's creatures! Pastor John Blossom will be at the opening of the new Meriden Dog Park at Beaver Pond City Park 165 Hicks Ave. this Saturday, August 25th, from 10AM-2PM. The event is dog-oriented, but we welcome people with all kinds of pets - or photos of pets - to receive a prayer of blessing to encourage God's loving presence with them - and with us as we care for them!
While our office has for many years sent out birthday and anniversary cards to our members, Jeanne King came up with the idea of making this ministry a group ministry for all of our interested members to join. As you can see in the photo, we had a GREAT turnout for the first card-writing get-together this Monday, as members caught up with August anniversaries and birthdays, and got ahead of the curve for September birthdays.
We thank Jeanne and every one who turned out for this joyful celebration of our love for our community in Christ, and we thank Charlene Bodero and Emily Belanger, who continue to support our members and church friends who are ill and who have lost loved ones recently. We are a loving, sharing and caring church, and we are so grateful for members who "walk the talk" of faith. Watch our announcements for the next "write'in" event!
