Our church is grieving over the sudden and unexpected death of Jeanne Beth Willett-King in her South Meriden home on Tuesday, August 13th. Jeanne was 49 years old. She blessed our lives, and the lives of so many people, with joy, and the love of God. Her husband, John King, her parents, Bruce Willett and Katharine Faber, and her other family members are in our prayers for healing, and hope, along with all of the many people in the greater Meriden community whose lives she touched.
Jeanne's family is welcoming people to visiting hours at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury (map), 5-8PM on Wednesday, August 21st. Our church's memorial service will be held in our sanctuary Thursday, August 22nd, 10AM (map). Jeanne's full obituary may be found here and below. Please join us in this time of special remembrance for a person who was so special for so many people, and for God.

After more than a year of discernment, negotiation, and preparation, the construction crews hired by Verizon Communications are preparing to begin the installation of mobile phone service equipment in our church's bell tower. This equipment will not affect the outward appearance of our bell tower. The only visible affect from the front of the church is that the grills that allow the sound of our carillon music to be heard outside will be moved slightly lower in the tower. Other equipment, including a natural gas-fueled generator, will be installed in small fenced-in areas directly behind our fellowship hall, out of sight from almost all points of view. Construction crews will have very little if any affect on our events and worship plans.
We thank our members, our Board of Trustees, and our community for their support of this important project. It will bring much-needed improvements to mobile phone services in our community, and revenues to our church that will help us to continue our mission in Christ with more financial security.
