Remember saying "No fair!" when you were a kid? Feel like that still sometimes? Pastor John's sermon this Sunday guides us through Jesus' parable of the vineyard and the workers in Matthew to help us understand how God wants us to keep our eyes on the prize of faith. Sunday School for kids, great fellowship, and more - see you at 10AM, 145 Main Street - ALL are welcome!
God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and ...God saw that it was good. ~Genesis 1:25
Love your pets and family animals? Want to have that love confirmed as a love that comes from God? Please bring your fuzzy, feathered, scaled, or whatever friends to South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 1st, at 1PM, and join our celebration of the wonders of life that God has given us in Creation! The event will feature a brief song and communal prayer, and the blessing of individual animals by Pastor John Blossom as you request.
Weather and other conditions permitting, we will conduct the main ceremony on our front lawn beside the church. If weather is not favorable or you would like to have your animals blessed indoors, we plan on having an indoor portion of the ceremony also in our fellowship hall in the rear of our church. For more information, please contact Pastor John at 203.293.8511, email@example.com.
God's way sure points in some strange directions sometimes - even where we think there's no way! Listen below to our podcast of Pastor John's sermon, and our announcements, prayer, and offertory music, with slides, or read the sermon "This Way!" based on Exodus 14 here or below the podcast. Have a blessed week!
Which way do we go as a church? God's way! Come hear Pastor John's sermon "This Way!," based on the story of Moses leading the Israelites through waters parted by God. (Exodus 14) Before worship, our first meeting of our new lectionary Bible study group will take place at 9.15 in the fellowship hall, and there will be our usual fellowship time afterwards, along with a meeting of our Finance Committee. Please don't forget our open house for Unity House at 2PM - come see our progress in mission!
This is the 15th anniversary of our 98 Cutlery Avenue property being dedicated as Unity House, to provide shelter and new hope to refugee families from all over the world. The board of directors for Unity House have been hard at work to breathe new life into this key mission program in our community. Come see the refurbishments this Sunday, September 17th, 2-4PM, and speak with Unity House board members about how you can help its mission to succeed. Our open house will include refreshments, tours, and a warm welcome. See you there!
Rally Day at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church was filled with children getting their first "God Bags" to take to Sunday School and home, many returning church friends and families, and wonderful food to celebrate a new season of faith at our church. We had a table on the front lawn with pastries, coffee and warm greetings for visitors and passers-by, and a great lunch in honor of our beloved music director Laurie Brandl, who is celebrating her 20th year with our church.
Corky Collins led Laurie's recognition ceremony during our worship announcements, where Laurie received gifts, and our joyful expressions of warm gratitude, Congratulations, Laurie! After a great spread of food, the morning wrapped up with a Church Council meeting, where we celebrated our heartfelt work for the health and the future of the church.
Audio and slides from the day are below, including Laurie's 20th anniversary celebration, along with Pastor John's sermon "Happy Meal," along with our announcements, prayers, our sending charge, and benediction. A printable version of Pastor John's sermon is here, and below in a scrollable format. Have a blessed week!

Below is the audio and slide video podcast, and underneath that a list of the five most critical things that we can do to help those in need through UMCOR - our United Methodist Committee on Relief. 100 percent of your donations to UMCOR go to relief work. at umcor.org/donate Please continue to pray, as often as you can!
