Our church is grieving over the sudden and unexpected death of Jeanne Beth Willett-King in her South Meriden home on Tuesday, August 13th. Jeanne was 49 years old. She blessed our lives, and the lives of so many people, with joy, and the love of God. Her husband, John King, her parents, Bruce Willett and Katharine Faber, and her other family members are in our prayers for healing, and hope, along with all of the many people in the greater Meriden community whose lives she touched.
Jeanne's family is welcoming people to visiting hours at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury (map), 5-8PM on Wednesday, August 21st. Our church's memorial service will be held in our sanctuary Thursday, August 22nd, 10AM (map). Jeanne's full obituary may be found here and below. Please join us in this time of special remembrance for a person who was so special for so many people, and for God.
A Mother's Day - and a Fair Day - to Remember! May 12th Podcast, Sermon Text for South Meriden Trinity UMC
Our church is so blessed to be in a community that tries so hard to be a real community. The information kiosk at the corner of Main Street and Camp Street, just a few hundred feet from our church, has helped people to advertise and celebrate community events - including may of our events!
In gratitude for being a part of our great community, we plan to lead the refurbishment of this kiosk as a part of the Mayor's Cleanup Day on Saturday, May 4th. Volunteers are invited to join other city-wide volunteers at noon for a free lunch at City Hall.
Please come to the kiosk at 9AM, ready to scrape, paint, and replace damaged wood. Donations of materials and lending of proper tools appreciated - please bring your own work gloves! For more information, please contact Pastor John.
