Our joy-filled Day of Pentecost last Sunday kicked off the season of Pentecost, when we practice building the fires of faith that spread God's love and living word. This Sunday, at 10AM, Pastor John Blossom's message "Second Childhood" will tell us how to live like God does - as a family of love. Come for joyful and heart-moving worship, stay for warm fellowship, leave with Christian hope and the tools of faith!
In a small room filled with prayer, the church was born in the hearts of Jesus' followers, filled with God's Holy Spirit. Pentecost is a joyful celebration of that day - and an invitation to heat up our own faith, to rebuild God's church on earth! Come for joyful worship - wear something red if you can! - and get ready to move into action in the Spirit. See you 10AM on Sunday!
This Sunday is Ascension Sunday, when we celebrate Jesus rising into heaven 40 days after his resurrection. He spent those forty days teaching his disciples how to get to heaven - the same way that Jesus came to us. Our beautiful church will have very special decorations, and a message of hope from Pastor John Blossom that will help you to follow the one true way of God. Some for joy-filled worship and fellowship, leave with Christian hope. See you 10AM on Sunday!
Our church family is blessed to have Sarah Bogdanski Bourdon as our new Office Administrator! Sarah brings a wonderful smile and a high level of professional experience to our church, which will help us to have true office administration as we continue to grow. Here is Sarah's welcome message for us:
Thank you for welcoming me so warmly to your church. I have been getting acquainted with some of you and learning the ropes over the last few weeks. I hope I will be able to help and enhance your community by the work that I do and encourage all of you to feel welcome to offer guidance and historical information to me. I know I have a lot to learn!
Let us pray for Sarah's success, and welcome her warmly!
What would it be like to have a faith without fear? What would it feel like to live your life with a heart of love that fear would not conquer, day after day? This is the goal of the Methodist way of faith - and we can find, it, a day at a time, through steadfast Christian discipleship. In this Sunday's message "Fearless," Pastor John Blossom will help us to prepare for lives and a future of our church that is based on faith in the power of God's love to conquer fear. Come for joyful worship and communion, stay for warm fellowship. leave ready to commit your life to something that save us all from fear!
Do you think that everyday small steps taken in faith don't matter? Think again! While Pastor John Blossom is away this Sunday at a Connecticut District clergy event, our own Jeanne King will be sharing a message on "The Ripple Effect," show how some small changes in her life grew and grew into big changes. We will also hear from our United Methodist Women as they provide a moment to recognize excellence in service to our congregation and God's world. Come for joyful worship, warm community, and leave to serve God with the hope of faith in your heart!
Dreary, cold days are giving way to bright and warm sunlight, a reminder that God wants us not to be alone in the darkness, but in the light of God's world, together! Jesus is here to lead us forward in faith, and to teach us how to build flocks like he does. Our worship this Sunday, April 22nd, starts at 10AM in our beautiful church sanctuary, and then moves into our fellowship hall for "holy conferencing," when we'll celebrate the life of the church in a "hands on" experience that combines worship, learning, a message from Pastor John Blossom, and important decisions. Jesus calls us to come together - respond to God's call in Jesus, and bring God's joy into the world!
Is a God who comes to us as a parent, a sibling, or a friend a God who we know? Christian faith offers us to change to say, "Yes!" with the confidence of children of God - no matter what our families were like, or are like. Come to experience this living, loving God with us as we rejoice in joyful worship, and listen to Pastor John Blossom's sermon, "It's Personal." Come for the joy, leave with God's power in your heart!
When Jesus rose from the dead, it wasn't an ending to God's story - it was the beginning of God's new story! Come for joyful worship, conversations, children's programs, and more!
