In our United Methodist Church traditions, ALL Christian believers are called by God to be ministers of God in Christ, through God's Holy Spirit. Our Connecticut District of the UMC New York Annual Conference supports your training in ministries actively! These training programs are a great way to grow in ministry through your spiritual gifts, which you can bring into the church and God's world.
There are THREE great programs being offered this April (printable flyers below):
BASIC LAY SERVANT COURSE - April 14th and 28th, at Plainville UMC - Learn the basics of what it means to be in ministry as a lay (non-clergy) member of the United Methodist church. You will gain insights into how God works through us in ministries, basic biblical and theological knowledge, and a sense of how we work together in Christ through ministry leadership.
PREACHING COURSE - April 7 and 21 at Southington UMC - Get very practical and encouraging guidance on how to prepare and deliver a sermon that reflects the message of God living in you through Christ in the United Methodist tradition.
ACTIVE AGGRESSOR TRAINING PROGRAM - Sunday, April 8th, 5.30-8PM, New Life United Methodist Church - A Connecticut State Police training program developed specifically for houses of worship. Learn how to respond to active aggressors in a worship and church service environment.
Please consult with Pastor John to see which programs might be best for you, but consider them all - we can ALL grow in God's love through these gifts of ministry! Consider signing up soon!
