Pastor Katarina von Kühn Murray grew up in Ridgefield, CT as the youngest of five children. During this time, she was confirmed in her United Methodist Church, became involved in worship, and was encouraged by her pastor and the laity to pursue a call toward ordination. With this call in focus, Katarina attended Baylor University and graduated with a B.A. in religion and biblical languages. She then completed her Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School, concentrating in theology and ethics. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Sacred Theology at Yale Divinity School.
Katarina is the wife of James von Kühn Murray and the mother of their beautiful new baby girl, Zooey Elizabeth. For fun, Katarina enjoys reading, baking, playing chess, and hanging out with her family and their dog Sørine, named after her favorite theologian--Søren Kierkegaard. Katarina is passionate about making disciples for the transformation of the world, and asking the question of what faithful Christian witness and identity looks like in herself and in her particular community.
